I know that moving around while farming is very important to keep yourself positioned well and avoid any skillshots or harass from your opponent. Pro`s do this by click excessively, producing fairly smooth movement.

I have just discovered something that I have yet to hear mentioned, so I may be an idiot pointing this out if it is common knowledge. Holding the right mouse button makes your character constantly follow your cursor. This allows for extremely smooth movement, without overworking your fingers. Combine this with normal one press right clicking, with minimap clicking, and a better button bind for stop/other functions allows for much better character control.

I have found that this method is excellent when being chased and dodging skillshots. When you use single right clicks, as soon as you see the skillshot being fired you will move your mouse to the left or right to dodge, but during the time it takes to move your cursor to a different position you are still moving in the path of the skillshot. When holding right click, as soon as you move your mouse, you character moves.

I personally dislike this method. I find it actually reduces your control. While it may be 'smoother,' it results in slight inconsistencies between where you want to go and where you're going. As you pan over from position A to C, you're spending time moving towards position B.

Actually, you'll notice most pros don't do this. There is a delay created by "unclick-click" that puts you at a nasty disadvantage compared to a simple click. The half second matters.
