Morgana is the best all-around mid in the game.

Difficult to gank, difficult to harass, roams well, pushes well, excellent team-fight presence.

Her only drawback is that she needs to get right in the middle of a fight to use her ultimate, but Hourglass helps with that.

My top two picks for mid are Zyra and Morgana. Both have incredible zoning abilities as well as farming abilities and are difficult to gank.
