I want some tips on 1v1 strategy.

What do you mean on 1v1? Because there are alot of variables, do you mean top lane or mid lane or just a random encounter? Also what champs?

There's a few variables, please explain.

Well normally as an ADC you can tell pretty quickly if you will win a fight just spam your skills as Ashe and hope you win or you can try to run and hope your team will help.

With an mage or AP you want to try spam all your skills again and avoid these if you can. Most of the time if your against an Mage it should be a fair fight but if your against the ad they will have the advantage unless you can burst (kill them quickly) because they do more damage in the long run

With an off-tank you shouldn't try to kill them but wait for your team to help you, if you get them low try to finish them off otherwise your team should come to help you.

Also if you'r in their junlge be aware that their team is on the way to help them and try to kill you

Overall hopefully your team is on their way to help you otherwise you need to either choose to fight or flight (run)

example 1:You are playing Ashe against a tank like alister or maokai, odds are if you will but it may take some time before you kill them, and in this time they may try to run away or they may wait for their team to get there so that they can gang up on you.

example 2: You are Ryze against an AD like Ashe you open up on her but you see that she hurts more then you and that she will kill you in the long run so you should try to run away by locker her with your stun/root and running.

example 3: You are garen and your pretty tanky and you meet an Ryze or another mage now they hurt a bit but you can still last awhile without dieing and you see that your AD Ashe and another teammate is on their way you can either try to run and hope that the enemy follows you or you can continue fighting until either you are low ( in which you will want to run to your team) or they get low and you chase them ( But beware that their team will do the same to you)

The most important thing is to remember that both teams will or should try to help their teammate so a 1v1 may quickly turn into a 5v5

This doesn't even begin to cover what we need to know... and it's so generic that it's not even funny...

If he's talking about a pure 1v1 game (custom 1v1), then it's pointless; there's really no reason to practice learning that.

If he's talking about laning, there are several things we need to know.

Is he talking about when someone is going all out, or is he including the skirmishing/trading that happens beforehand?

Why is it 1v1? Where the hell is the rest of your team?

The best 1v1 strategy is to never do it

Unless you're a champ that excels at dueling...

^ it's exactly this, some champions just excel at dueling 1v1. They kill single targets quickly and effectively.

If you are doing 1v1 custom though it is almost impossible to simply judge skill solely on a 1v1 basis. There is this Deathmatch FPS mentality of "1v1 me bro" and it is retarded.
