That is most certainly an excellent way to change around the items, love the idea of getting a new item based on just gameplay alone. +1'd all the way to the bank!

Ryze build will consist of FH, Banshees, Sorc Boots, and the rest will be archangels. 1000 mana not unique? Pretty scared.

Pretty cool idea.

To be really nitpicky your wording is inconsistant

your maximum Mana increases by 4 (3 second cooldown).
you gain 5 maximum Mana (3 second cooldown).

I'm not sure how I feel about this on Swain. It doesn't give any survivability until it's fully completed, and even then it's only for 2.5 seconds.
