Children of the Grave + Blackfire Torch is pretty nasty o.O

BFG tacks on about another 22% of max health damage to Children of the Grave's 34% at max rank, and that's before you even look at the AP it gives.

Blue-scaling magic resist runes just shot up in value as a good investment. You think Galio with "Bulwark" would be the new counter for these DoT heavy champions, but even then, it's more like a push-even rather then a counter.

to be fair, it's actually quite easy to get a LOT of MR

Natural MR is 52.5, masteries can be 2/4/6 in defense, 12/24 from runes, 25 from mercs, 30/36 hex/maw. That's 122 at minimum and 144 at most, so that's still between 25% and 35.5% mitigation, which is ok considering mages in return have a LOT less options in terms of armor. At best they can itemize for HP with BFT, Sweeper, Rylai's. All the armor item options except Wigglet sacrifice something for the armor (Tabi is just a really bad choice vs Ionian and Sorc, FH gives mana that not everyone needs and 0 AP) from an item point of view, bruisers still hold the advantage IMO. Not to mention the fact that thanks to Triforce and their stronger AAs, bruisers often have more consistent damage. Right now, the only APs that are broken are DoT users that can abuse BFT. The others are fine, really.
