He's not over powered. He can be countered with a large number of simple strategies. He will beat you if you're bad at the game but you'll only lose if your whole team is bad. If you give up on winning, you probably won't win.

You are right that he is not OP, but your statements are wrong and not helpful.

Darius is an anti-tanky DPS tanky DPS. Compare him to pretty much EVERY other bruiser in the game: He has no ranged harass or slow like Mundo,Olaf,etc. He has no gapcloser like so many of them have. He has no ranged slow/nuke like Nasus even. His grab is good but fairly short range.

As such, he has a big disadvantage compared to most bruisers vs any ranged opponents, including melee with ranged attacks.

To compensate for this, he is extremely strong vs enemy melee bruisers. His Axe is good short range harassment, his autoattack resetter hits hard and slows. His bleed adds magical damage to keep him from being countered by armor as hard, and his True dmg Ult counters the armor/MR bruisers usually stack.

Darius will usually win vs any kind of straight melee bruiser, especially the ones with gapclosers.

Darius will suffer against those melee champs with any kind of low-cost Poke, like Katarina, Shen, Cho, Malphite (if Q maxed), etc.

Darius will definitely have a hard time vs RANGED enemies like Kennen, Ryze, Vlad, and other potential toplaners.


Darius is unique in that he very strongly counters and is countered by the enemy pick.

Darius as a Champion is not OP per say. However, his Risk vs. Reward scale is skewed way towards Reward. Even if you are completely shut down early, as long as your team can do decent AE damage by mid game a Dar with just a Mallet and Maw will be able to clean up or turn the tides of most Team Fight.

Dar's kit actually rewards faceroll play on the Summoners part while the Champion is designed to punish less then perfect play on the part of the other team. I've actually never ever seen a Dar build anything but Defence Tanky and the amount of CC and focus it requires to actually kill a Dar Mid/Late game can get kind of ridiculous and means less CC for the AP/AD Carry.

He is already slated for a very well deserved nerf.

Just stop. Everyone is sick of this BS. Darius is Darius, he's gonna curbstomp the inexperienced and unknowing. But like every champion, they can be beaten, learn to play and learn who to play.
