Hi, I'm Tiger, and I suck with introductory posts.
Since July-ish I've been working on a stylized silhoeutte-y style (a very technical term I've taken a lot of time to perfect). I have more on my dA, but I figured I'd share the ones I'm happiest with. There's three different types of pieces that I want to share; full-sized art, buddy icons, and an animated gif. Please click each piece for the full view, as you lose a lot of detail otherwise.
Unless stated otherwise, all art is done with Paint Tool Sai.
The first style is full-sized, hand-drawn art pieces.
Diana vs Leona was the first I did, purely as a request from a friend when Diana was first previewed.
Eventually I moved on to Janna, who has always been one of my favorite champions.
Varus followed soon after, since I have a particular affection for him as well.
Irelia is one of my better works, though I have no particular fondness for the champion. She was simply a request.
Striker Ezreal is for a 2k upvote thread I have -- more shameless plugging for that later.
The second art style is for buddy icons. Yes, these are traced. Trust me, if I could make a character easily recognizable at an 80x80 size (I create them in 160x160 as you see, but shrink them to 80x80) without having to just trace the splash art, I definitely would. Sadly, most attempts came out as a mess. ><; Please click on these, as many, especially Nami, have distortion when viewed just on the thread.
(Ezreal is animated; click to view)
Note: Nami is an experimental icon. She took literally two hours, and I'm unlikely to pull that again. >_>
Shameless Plug: I have a 2k upvote thread for Striker Ezreal, and I created this gif for it (click to view animation). If you have a chance, upvote it and maybe post? (There's a contest)
For the record; yes every frame was traced, but considering there were 80 of them, I felt it was necessary for more seamless animation. Even with just tracing the project took over 30 hours.
This was done entirely in Photoshop CS3, as Sai doesn't have the tools to animate. ><;
