It has always been my understanding that we should not punish players that went AFK unless they specifically went AFK to hurt their team. The Leaver Buster system is in place to take care of AFK players, and I thought Tribunal was supposed to pardon such cases in order to avoid someone getting punished twice for one afk game. I was just wondering how other Tribunalers vote to get a better understanding of what people see as punishable.

I had a case today where a 0/0/0 Garen was seemingly AFK (disconnected) all match. No chat, no items, no CS. It was the only match in the case, so I pardoned. I suspect the guy disconnected before the match began.

Most Disconnects and leaves are set up for leave busters. however i have had to afk games and i post in chat that i have to afk, with a given reason, and if they want they can report me. I have found most players understanding about this, since real life comes before a game as long as you aren't doing it to hurt your team, but i guess it based on the judges of t he case and how understanding they are

My rule is that if they were disconnected the entire match (i.e. 0/0/0 0 cs no items and no chat) then I pardon. Anything else is generally intentional and I punish. Emergencies are also pardoned.

if it's a leave it will show it's a leave. if it shows a win/loss than afking is punishable depending on what you find in chat.

I believe Riot has said that you have a certain number of "free" disconnects per week/month/etc before they start showing up in tribunal. Only after you hit this base amount does it show up.

AFK's and leaves are insta-punish.

I actually disagree with this. I've gotten quite a few wrong (Not that it's a big deal) for people who have intentionally left a game where I punish and the community majority pardons. I think if a case shows up in the tribunal with a punishable offense (Leaving the game to me is punishable if intentional - If it's an AFK guy who never connected I usually pardon) it should be treated as a tribunal case, regardless of whether or not leaverbuster is "supposed" to handle it.

If someone says "**** this, i'm out" and leaves the game, I'm punishing it - Apparently the community sees this as ok behaviour since leaverbuster is technically supposedly catching these guys as well, I personally don't agree.
