As Number 14 flew over and was landing in an attempt to claw out the Queen's eyes, appendages from the side that were being used to pressure Klava into the hill were flailing upwards, and Number 14 could only safely land on her strong backside. Even worse than the failed attempt to get to her eyes, the Queen did sense the insect coming and immediately backed away from Klava, turning her attention to the insect not yet grappled on her back yet again. All the flailing appendages and a vibrating backside were going to pummel Number 14 to further injury!
Realizing where this was about to be going if he stayed, Number 14 chose not to. He'd drawn her attention off of Klava for, hopefully, long enough for him to get his footing back well and good. So instead of trying to stick on, he simply landed right into a new leap, wing assisted this time, going high into the air. Corrosive spit was locked and loaded, now he just needed to get into position to fire.
