Not sure if this was discovered already but here it goes.

I have the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370. Was having a similar issue that I saw in a previous post with the acid trip error.

HP has its own version of the AMD driver that restricts some parts they dont want running on their machines, so HP has an update they want me to install and the AMD installer recognizes that I have an HP laptops and wont install it, tells me to contact HP for their update.

HP's is useless and fails to update for me, maybe other people will have better luck. (HP update Link Below)

What I did was use the desktop version of the driver updater to update using the HD 6000M series since my HD 6370 was not listed in the notebook section (we're back at the HP propriety problem I talked about above -.-). I imagine that if you were to use the proper series from the desktop updater like I did it may install corretly aswell. Once I let the Desktop updater run my scrren resolution went back and forth 2-3 times and the driver updated. Took about 5 minutes. The updater also installed 3 AMD modules onto my system to regulate the driver. I'm just happy the thing is updated. >.<

Hope this helps anyone else fighting between HP's and AMD's update tools. The auto detect driver features for me were also pretty much useless but I have my system locked down more than most from outside detection programs.

Worth noting, I am running a 64-bit Windows 7 OS on a HP notebook with 2 switchable video cards, one Intel one AMD. Used the AMD Catalyst Display Driver for Windows 7 64-bit Update tool.

I have basically the same specifics as you it seems except I'm on Radeon HD 5650 or something. Tomorrow I might try your method when I wake up, because after my failed attempts, it sounds as though what you suggest might help. I'll give you some feedback as to whether it works or not

For those of you trying to update drivers for radeon mobility cards on HP hardware try here: http://leshcatlabs.net/manual/ This worked on my HP laptop with radeon mobility HD 5650 Windows 7 x64... it's sort of a long process.

wouldn't be related to lack of sse2 support on the athlon xp non 64bit cpu's would it?

Having the same problem since the recent patch. I tried repairing the game but it just wouldn't fix. It's playable but very disorientating and obscures quite a lot of the screen when the windows are opened. Pyro Jedi's pictures pretty much cover what happens.

Please release another patch fixing the problem Riot.
