AP Varus is terrible in bot lane, he's only good top lane with an aggressive jungler.
His ADC game is very good, but he needs hard CC like Amumu or Thresh to peel for him.
Protect Varus, nobody is better, leave him open and he's worse than useless.
MF on the other hand is a great artillery ADC, solid laning phase, great teamfight, average 1v1, she's more versatile than Varus, but she has a lower skill cap.
