I counter build with at least one, maybe two Items.
AP Yi is thwarted by MR because after his Alpha Strike, he has nothing.
Wait for the Alpha, Q, auto attack using an on hit build. If he tries to stand there and Meditate, plant a shroom at his feet, or two... or three and reposition. If I have Ignite on me, lay that baby on him too. After his Meditate he will be in a shroom party. If he Highlanders away, I won the fight and he retreated.
