How can i take screenshots?

I just can't take Screenshots ingame. i tried ''PrtScr'' but when i paste it on pait i got a ''black screen'' so i was wondering if there is a ''take a screen shot'' button. if there's not a button to do that, what program should i use?

F12 creates a screenshot in the Screenshots folder of your League of Legend's directory.
