one increases damage to minions by 20 percent, the other increases damage to minions by 25 percent. but a guy said they don't stack cause of the "butcher" name. another guy said they do stack since one is 20 percent and the other is 25. what is true?

Uniques of the same name do not stack.

so if is says "unique passive-butcher", it won't stack with another "unique passive-butcher" despite one of them being 20 percent and the other being 25 percent?

Correct, you can only ever have one of a named unique passive.

by "named" do you mean names like "butcher", or do you mean "exactly the same unique passive with same stats"? it still could be perceived either way, i need clarification.
