Well the team has a choice.

1. I can play an AD without the proper runes and setup I would like to play and be a "Major Feeder" No use at all.

2. I can go AP Character "mid" "Bot" Get farmed and actually be of use on a decent team.

I think they need to give users the option to select which roles they want and match players with what players pick for those roles.

I agree, but I find it funny during any eSport event they say X is going top Y is ap mid and Z is jungle.

Perhaps 2 ways to queue up, one with the meta, one where you say nothing.

But that would defeat the purpose then, someone who didn't choose a role could just choose anyone and cause an argument with the person who chose THAT same role. They would need to have two different queues for that which I'm sure would clutter the game more than just adding the role type option.

By the way, I really like the idea of a pre-queue role option similar to WoW's and feel like that would substantially decrease the chance of getting a toxic team. Either that or a vote to disband current team and re-que which was mentioned earlier in the thread and set a 2 vote maximum per hour limit to prevent 20 minute queues. The system wouldn't be perfect, but I'm sure it would limit the amount of trolls and bad teams you would encounter.

I've since revised my position on the call order/pick order thing.

My position now is that I don't give a **** as long as the team works together.

Too many people use the call order/pick order thing as an excuse for their poor behavior. Plus I suppose entitlement in general just annoys me.

I would love an outlined system, ideally 5 people would work together and choose the best composition for the group, but this doesn't happen. Call order is just horrible because of locking certain champs and countering, those who do this deserve the frustration they get from the current system. Pick order is better than call for locking champs and countering, but it still lacks the team working together. Queue with a role would work if there were defined roles, but there are at least 2 or 3 extremely viable and perhaps better alternatives to the "Meta" depending on the opposing team and your team, so I don't know if you'd call lanes or what, but there aren't exactly 5 roles. Double Top is viable, Bruiser + ADC bot is viable, APC + ADC bot is viable, even single bot single top double mid can work but probably not solo/duo queue.

So how do we select roles if there aren't 5 roles to select? I guess we could have a build a team like WoW LFG, put our desired/capable roles and have someone invite you to their game, then build your own 5 man team that way, allowing the group to pick their composition. But none of this will do much, the only real answer is to role a 5 man premade, short of that I say pick order for lack of the other systems having a positive outcome.

You should be flexible in all roles and able to switch based on what your enemy is picking....

Someone obviously doesn't know pick order is how the game is intended to work... otherwise... there wouldn't be a pick order


Never call something in a ranked, it shows how new you are to the game.

Sorry I wasn't clear, if I queue up as for support I wouldn't be matchmade (or atleast immediately) with someone who didn't call a role.

I also don't like a vote to requeue because teams could vote to get requeued if they get out picked really badly.

Why not a set of icons under your champion portrait during champion select that shows what roles you are best at. I know you should never ever que for ranked/draft if you don't know all the roles but , for exapmle: my Mid/ADC/Support are all better than my jungle or top skills, not that I can't fill them, I'm just a better Mid/ADC/Support.

A vote kick would also be nice. Especially for trolls who lock in jungle Karthus with smite and revive. Etc.

i prefer people voicing their prefered Lanes/Roles... saying draft order matters doesnt make sense.. cause key lanes like Top or Mid should not be getting pick in thr 1st and 2nd spots cause that leaves them open to heavy counters... i usually play mid but when im in the top pick ill give it up and play support to help the team so i dont get countered by a Talon mid for example..

but when we are in the champ selection screen and people wont say a word while we are all discussing where we will play and then just lock in a champ that conflicts with everything we just did puts the team on tilt before the game starts...
