Buddy Chat (New issue i think)

Okay, so we were having the same issues as other people, the buddy chat not showing up. But the problem is we have narrowed it down to my friends specific account not triggering the buddy window showing up. He logged onto my computer with his account, no buddy window. I logged onto his computer with my account, buddy window shows up.

Awesome - thanks for helping us to narrow this down! So that we can identify exactly what's happening, can you please do the following steps:

* Log in as yourself, make sure the buddy window shows up
* Close the front-end client and email your logs
* Log in as your friend, make sure the buddy window doesn't show up
* Close the front-end client and email your logs again

We will then be able to compare the two and identify (and thus eliminate) this issue.

We aren't currently aware of a workaround, but if we figure one out we'll let you know immediately. Am I correct in assuming that the logs got mailed in?

Excellent, I've located them and attached them to the appropriate bug. If you're interested, the bug number for this issue is PLT-4976 - I'll post further updates as we figure out what's going on with this.

From looking at the logs, I think it might be related to the password that your friend has chosen - as a troubleshooting step, can you get him to change his password to something else and then log out and back in to see if that makes chat appear?
