In the past few weeks, it hasn't been just Darius being played in every match; Xin Zhao is now in virtually almost every match now, as well. The thing about this is how ridiculous Xin Zhao is. His abilities do massive damage, and he is literally a tank every match, no matter who plays him. Out of the dozens, on dozens, on dozens or matches playing with or against Xin Zhao, I've never seen him have a bad score, or fail to carry his team to victory/extend the game much longer than it should have been.

Top tier for sure, not completely OP. He CAN be countered but it takes a coordinated team. You need to catch him immediately when he dives in or else he will split your team, knock up your carry, and they will be dead before anyone can react leaving you 3v4 or 4v5. If you are smart with your cc, on the other hand, xin just served himself to you on a silver platter lunging right into the middle of your hungry team.

This is basically true of any melee champion with a gap closer, though.

Also, just because CC shuts a champ down doesn't mean they're balanced. CC shuts down EVERY champion - that's the point.

Personally my issue with Xin is his Q. Seriously, any time a champion has a Q that is more feared than said champion's ultimate, something is wrong.

you don't get harrassed as much for playing xin and he's actually somewhat viable unlike darius who is not viable. Xin however is not OP. He's just another fighter who happens to have some nice abilities. He is a fighter assassin. He acts like a fighter but is reliant on a few tricks to stay alive like fizz or poppy.

Xin is one of the three Fighter/Assassins, and of three he's the strongest early-game. He doesn't scale well unless he gets massively fed, but early lane dominance is its own reward. He can be harassed fairly easily though. Really, a lane-swap will often spell serious trouble for him, as someone with good range can keep a decent advantage. It's just that top is the realm of melee bruisers, and Xin is good against most of those. Counterpick to victory!

Here's the secret to beating xin.

fight or flight,
you can either kill him or you can't
Dont try to kite him unless you really need to or don't have a choice, hes a bruiser and letting him get cs isn't gonna mean much as his itemization is ****ing expensive. He needs kills not 7 or 8 minions.
If you attack him you go all in or you stay the **** out. Once you two engage he will stick to you. If he engages you with his gapcloser just run or fight him. There's no inbetween, its fight or flight. When you run do not stop to fight him if someone is coming, he will heal off you and make you look like a stupid****. Youre better off making him waste his only means of catching ppl and accelerating his damage quickly.

If you do fight him do not get scared off by his early burst, you can't tell if you can kill him just by seeing how the beginning of the fight goes. If you let his cooldowns reduce then suddenly decide to let your balls drop he will burst you a second time and make you look like a stupid****. All in fights or gtfo
