Specifically, when he's in bottom. It seems that no matter what champion I pick, if I'm up against Jayce I will lose bot. Badly.

If he's not broken, then how does one counter him?

Jayce has a bad matchup against champs that can screw up his Q (Zyra, Malz). He's stalemated by strong pushers so you shouldn't lose BADLY, but you'll eventually lose because he outscales you.

Only champions I think of that don't do stupidly bad versus Jayce are Zyra and Ziggs

Ziggs can clear from far away and just stalemate forever
Zyra clears decently and if she times her E, R and Zhonya's (well Wooglet's actually) correctly, she should at least kill him even if he kills her too


But, yes, Jayce is one of the strongest bot laners in the game, no questions asked

He's decidedly cheesecake on Dom in general, but not as bad as kass. I've had decent success against him as AD Malz, but not until lategame when I can out-tank his scaling. He has massive amounts of mixed damage while building standard bruiser tanky AD. If you can push from a distance and hide behid your own minions to block direct Qs and dodge when he moves to the side, you can survive the poke, but his commits are lethal to most.

An experienced Syndra can fare well against him. Simply use the minions to shield, stun and push if he tries to come near, melt him with ult when needed.

He is insanely overpowered in this mode. He has everything. Burst, sustained damage, a gap closer, a disengage, aoe Nidalee spears, mana sustain, Shurelya's, and I could go on.
