There's a nice, comfortable point between getting derp and having to deal with serious business that I try to hang around. Yeah, everyone wants to win, but a lot of people have the good taste to recognize free wins are BS and actively hunt down people playing champions everyone hates.

I think part of the fun of low elo was a bigger player pool. You won't run into the same players as often you do in the higher brackets and to me thats what makes things stale... especially taking into consideration the players you run into who play absolutely nothing but Teemo or Kass.
