Award Gain is a way to easily get RP for free.
You just need 7 referrals (basicaly 7 friends) to get a free 25$ RP card.

So here is my question, is it bad for Riot's buisness ? I feel like it's lame for people that buy/bought RP.

Is it legal ?

I hope it's not ... As much as I'd like to see Riot grow as a company I'm not gonna pay for something I can get for free...

It's not really for free. You're filling out surveys and referring more people who will fill out surveys and sign up for trials. Surveys + trials = money for them.
I'm not sure how much they get per survey/trial/etc, but assuming it doesn't cover the cost of a $25 RP card (even though it probably does), then they're just relying on your friends (and their friends) to do a survey or two.

tl;dr: It's probably legit. Just use common sense when signing up for sites. And of course, Riot isn't going to come here endorsing some third party site.

No, it's not a problem for Riot, because the cards are bought legitimately from Riot.

It is, however, a problem for the idiots who fall for Free RP scams.

Company buys $25 RP cards, tells you to fill out survey's and get 7 friends too, companies pay that company to promote ads and give you their survey's they make $100 per survey or ad shown to each person, Riot gets card bought from their company for $25 and here's the kicker...


Riot is still paid for that $25 card, but instead of being paid by you, they were paid by that company and that company made you fill out survey's and get friends to earn said card...Riot loses no money at all, company makes 21x the money from adspace and survey's completed that they paid for the RP...Everyone wins...so no it's not "illegal" Riot is still being paid, it's not like that company is just printing their own RP cards...that would be "illegal" so to speak
