Ah, a summoner have decided to pay visit to my place, amusing. Varus mutters An ideal team would be a team that can compensate for my lack in footsteps. People with very good crowd control and people that can get me out of a pinch. Individuals such as Amumu and Anivia for example.

Varus ponders for awhile before answering the summoner's last question

Blitzcrank is quite sufficient for sating my hunger of Noxian blood. I have also seen the likes of Taric, Alistar and Janna. Also the new addition to this "league" the Chain Warden. His lantern on many occasions proved vital to my positioning. Varus pauses before adding. I also quite enjoy the Maven's melodies.

The clicking sound of heels on the Institute's stone floor can be heard approaching the chamber. The sound stops in front of the closed door and after a brief moment, three knocks can be heard. A woman's melodious voice can be heard from behind, her tone uncertain.

Champion Varus? Are you inside? May I enter?

Varus was marking more Noxian champions down on the walls while he heard the abrupt knocks, he opened the door in front of him and recognizes the presence of the summoner.

"So you have questions for me?" Varus asked the woman in front of him. "Nevertheless, enter and take a seat."

Varus gestured for the lady to move into his room and pulled out a chair for her to sit on. He waited for the summoner to sit down and sat, waiting patiently for her to dash out her inquiry.

She perks up in surprise, clearly not expecting the sudden hospitality from Varus - or perhaps eagerness to get rid of her. Nevertheless, her voice is calm and polite.

Ah, Varus - I am glad to have found you in. Thank you for your hospitality. curtsies and steps into the room, looking around. She raised her eyebrow, betraying her surprise

I see you have adjusted quite well to your accommodations. she looks at the chair and eases herself in it, resting her hands in her lap while standing upright. You have good taste in furniture I see...

Her gaze inspecting the champion's expression

I hope I am not intruding into anything important you were doing - I was merely wondering whether you'd enjoy a conversation with me. she tilts her head to the right, smiling bemused Perhaps answer some of my inquiries, like you suggested earlier.

I did not become a guardian only because I never miss my mark, summoner.

Varus raises his eyebrow in return, he can tell she wasn't expecting hospitality, but of what consequences is showing a little bit of courtesy to an individual who have not wronged him in any way, not that his daunting presence make such statements easy to enforce.

"Ask, and you shall receive." Varus responded, "But do not question hospitality, unless you desire to lose it."

She raises her eyebrow quizzically at the champion's sharp remark. Despite this, she keeps her tone polite and friendly

Why, champion - I would never dare question your worth. To become a champion of the League surely is something of high repute, but you must understand that we also have standards. While your marksmanship is, indeed, a factor of your admittance, there were also other sides of you that contributed... she ponders for a moment Like your unquestioned sense of honor, to name one.

she nods curtly And I would never -dare- question hospitality, which, by the way, I am truly grateful for. I was merely making small talk - but I see you want to aim straight to the point. She smirks amused.

So - Ionia ... a truly beautiful place, I am told. I never had the pleasure to see it personally but from what I hear from your fellow Ionian champions, it almost sounds like Utopia to me. she leans back on the chair, her smile slowly dimming as she continues speaking, her gaze never leaving Varus's face. Imagine my surprise when the council forwarded your champion application file ... she slightly tilts her head to the right, her expression turning apologetic for a brief moment Yours was a touching tale - for all it's worth, I sincerely apologize for your loss. she briefly closes her eyes, letting the words sink in silence for a couple of somber moments.

Now, my inquiry ... what can you tell me about the history of the Temple you were the Warden of?
