You can no longer jungle as Zed thanks to the new S3 bs.......

I used to be able to in S2 solo red buff and leave with half hp i cant even do it (I DIED)....and i had a effing leash zed is my fav energy based champ and my one of my favs period but i only play him jungle i cant even do so now.........

I actually just attempted this.
Managed to get all jungle monsters on and both buffs before recalling and without any leash

You just need proper runes, masteries, and using potions correctly. You really won't even need a leash/
