"Well as things stand, I don't need to trust you when I can simply evade or kill you should you decide to double cross me. This gives me freedom to place some trust in you and give you the chance to become a good comrade in the days to come"
The city walls slowly loomed closer as the forest grew thinner. Ionia called to Arvael, like some long lost relative, or a missing possession. The sense that a new beginning was here hung in the air. Arvael couldn't wait.

Almyra gave a slight smirk, so many underestimated her, though it only mattered when they attacked her, since she was never the aggressor.
"I would not recommend thinking you can evade or kill someone unless you have done so to that person before, or unless you can calculate it based upon the strings, and it is easy to tell that you have not done so with me, and cannot see the strings."
She continued walking calmly.
"Though you need not worry about me, I only fight in self defense."

Arvael approached the nearest gate to the city. Guards were posted but didn't stop them, they seemed to just be here to handle serious domestic issues, not harass every traveler they find. The duo finds themselves near a small crossroads in the middle of the plaza, just within the main gate.
"This is a powerful city. There must be fine warriors here."

Almyra simply follows Arvael, she looks around a bit, but she had been here not too long ago, though a new butterfly had been added to the mix, one named Arvael. She was eager to observe what effect it would have.
"It is possible, many in Ionia study martial arts as part of a way to seek enlightenment. However, few fight for reasons other than self defense. I was one of them once, I studied martial arts, until I learned that chaos was the true way to attain balance. I still practiced though, so I can defend myself if attacked."

Arvael seemed intrigued.
"Where did you learn the arts of combat?"

"I learned some of it when I was a child, before I left my family. It was part of our tradition to learn various combat and meditation techniques to improve focus and keep us fit. That way, we could also defend ourselves if necessary. My former teachers of Chaos taught it as well, since the magic we use has different offensive potential than most, and benefits from knowledge of martial arts. We sometimes would have the need to defend ourselves, since our philosophy is often misunderstood and treated with hostility."
She suddenly began speaking in rhythm, reciting a poem.
"Blades sharp as a razors edge,
to cut the strings of fate,
With pointed needle and hardened sledge,
ripples we create,
With our claws, time, we carve and twist
and with hands the strings we rearrange
With shields we hide from the great tempest
and fate we seal, with binding chains."
What this could possibly mean, it was likely only Almyra, or another like her would know.

The Shadow Warrior looks down from the roof he's standing on, inspecting the people entering the city. Seeing the person he spoke to in the forest he focuses his attention. His client wants him to keep an eye on his findings, so the Shadow Warrior had been waiting for the creature to go towards the nearest city. Now that he's here the Shadow Warrior is planning to follow him undetected. However since last time the man managed to detect him while invisible the Shadow Warrior now keeps his distance, staying on the roof while he spies on them from above, also studying the girl accompanying his target.

"Well, if you've finished your little impromptu poetry outburst, shall we try to find the local law enforcement?"
Arvael walked towards the largest thoroughfare he saw, presuming that if this city had warriors, it would have a military or police force that would likely be easily accessible by the populace.
"Any idea what kinds of bounties might be available here?"

Almrya nodded, agreeing to go with the celestial. They were already headed to where the easiest place to find any military or police would be. She had no idea about bounties though, perhaps that is something she should pay attention to as well.
"No, I have neglected to pay attention to them. Yet another variable I have forgotten to pay attention to."

The Shadow Warrior walks over the roofs as he stalks his target and its companion. He'd rather he is close enough to listen to their conversation, but it is better to keep a safe distance for now.
