If you want to emulate the big name teams, then you shouldn't be playing in Solo/Duo Queue. They are teams
for a reason. It's very easy to specialize in one role by joining or forming a team. It doesn't have to be a particularly good team. By being a member of a team, you have the luxury of having a specialization on that team, a role in which you can grow and, hopefully, get noticed by a better team. In Solo Queue, the goal is to demonstrate how good of a player you are at all aspects of the game, not just a single niche. Did you ever notice that many of players they showcased in the Pro Picks feature were picking champions outside of their competitive roles?
Not to mention the fact that the Summoner's Code recommends filling missing roles on your match-making team so that you can become better at the game.
