Well, our state is one of the worst, if not the worst in the country for education, and I am in one of the most underfunded school districts there is.

I know right? 9th grade was introduction to algebra for me, and that was normal. the precocious ones did honors algebra, that only equaled to bragging rights in my district

here i'll just spell out high school math in my district
9th- Algebra (2 semesters)
10- Geometry (2 semesters)
11th- Algebra (again, 2 semesters)
12- This weird ass class they titled, College Math, but if you did very well in the previous math classes you can talk to the counselors about doing pre-calculus

how does this compare to your high school?

No, in my district 8th grade (last year of middle school, I know some places that's 9th grade) you take pre-algebra, then move into 9th grade where you take introduction to algebra, which is nearly the exact same curriculum as pre-algebra. I still don't understand why we take the same class twice, but there are some minor differences
