Riven gets stomped by AD Nid too.

That ranged poke in the early levels is extreme.

You wanna beat up Riven? Start all AD marks and Quints and a doran's blade on nid. And poke poke poke all day starting level 1. No last hits without a spear to the dome.

Grab heal level 1 and max it first for the AS and mitigation...

I guarantee you, there is NOTHING Riven can do to win that lane without her jungle making some great plays.

I've had most success using mages to counter Riven on my main. However, it's mostly about reading her movements. If she uses one ability out of place, it hurts her pretty badly for follow up options.
Also, she's quite squishy for a bruiser, though she tends to dominate if she initiates. If you go for her first and keep her on the defensive (someone else suggested it, I think) she's pretty easy to keep at bay.
I mained Riven since near release, but she's starting to feel like Orianna to me. Fun to play, great to faceroll people who aren't familiar with her, but not really a practical choice against anyone who actually knows what they're doing.

shes kinda like darius in the sense that she can that anything that isnt right in front of her, and is stil kinda auto attack reliant, so teemo is a possible counter, havent seen it done though, might be something to fiddle with

oh wait fiddle, a champ with range, sustain, and cc..hmm if only there were other champs also like that..

Riven's strength is that she has relatively low cooldowns on most of her abilities, considerable scaling, great burst damage and high mobility. Her weakness is lack of range, lack of any non-AD attack and now lowered HP regen. To be honest, any ranged top laner: Jayce, Teemo, Nidalee and Kayle to an extent all can shut her down. The trick is to not let her snowball, if she does that, build a ton of armor and hope that she makes a lot of mistakes. Otherwise, just surrender and save yourself from a lot of fast deaths.

Actually a few counters. Teemo Olaf Darius jax urgot Kayle. Some good lane match ups would be kennen when Lee sin Joyce. Basically if u have poke and can hit it u can win. If u have lots of instant damage which u use after her shield is down. If u have dots which keeps her HP lowish and can mitigate her damage.

Riven has many counters, and she is very easy to kill, but like i said on another thread, this is a SKILL based game, regardless of how kids complain a champion is OP.

People will be better than you, others will be worse than you. Expand your knowledge, keep practicing, and over come. Just like you can`t overcome Riven, as a Riven I had to overcome, Garen, Jax, Fiora, Malphite, Jayce, Kayle and pffft, that good for nothing Darius.
