Their moves do not ALWAYS have to have something to do with their moves. If there were, Swain's passive would be like Tryndamere's ult. He felt no pain, even though his leg was shattered, so he would be unable to die. This would be WAYYYYYYYYY too OP. That is why not all of the champion spells should relate to the lore.
