How do you stop this guy, first of all his laning is so safe, his poke is so annoying to deal against and how can you counter him in team fights if all he does is come in last and ks his team one by one getting free resets, Stuns yes but wtf he uses his team to soak up all the stuns and just kills us all. His clean up potential is greater then Kat's.

Well, you have to start by not allowing the rest of his team to be a problem. Without a reliable team, AP yi gets destroyed trying to do damage in teamfights. Build tanky (Health+Mr). Also remember that cleanup potential does not = carrying a team.

I can easily do that with AP nid, Kat, Anivia and more.

I've played against numerous AP Yis and I also play him myself. His laning is safe but he's unable to get early game kills because his Q will bring the enemy very low but the chances of landing a Q that kills them is pretty low as they'll probably retreat and B. Also, as has been stated, AP Yi has more cleanup potential than carrying potential. Even with 5 points in your Q, pretty much all you can do in teamfights is use it to take out some chunks of the enemy team's HP, then sit back for 10 seconds as the rest of your team goes in to fight, then use it again as cleanup. Also, hard CC shuts him down, not even his ultimate can get him out of that.

Also, AP Yi depends a lot on his team to do well because of his lack of carrying potential. Like OP said, AP Yi always comes in last during teamfights to clean up. How can he clean up if the rest of his team doesn't win the fight for him first? If his team doesn't do well, even if he wins his lane, in the end he'll lose the game. You should be more afraid of an AP Yi's team than of AP Yi himself.

Wait until his ultimate wears off.. He doesn't get resets then.

I agree with the OP.. His meditate gets 4.0 AP Ratio. He gains a ridiculous amount of HP from meditate. Fix that and he won't be broken.

And before you say "z0mg CC breaks his meditate!".. Yeah, sure it does.. But by the time you can CC him he has already healed 400 health for every 100 AP he has. No other character in the game can heal that much in such a short time. It's broken.

Building AP is a huge trade off with a lot of other stats. Big risk = big reward. It's pretty ****ing simple.
