Since Roger was little, he could remember his tribe always worshipped the one thing that keeps us warm at night; fire. The tribe would send a man when they reached the age of 16 to the Shadow Isles to prove their strength. Most men, however, would cower in the face of the Shadow Isles and just stay close to the shore for a short amount of days. Roger was not one of these men. He went in search of the Shadow Isles. One night aboard his ship, sailing from Demacia to the supposed area of the Shadow Isles, the mist was thick. He could not see past ten feet in front of him.
Suddenly, he heard a voice. "So you want to become strong?" Roger was filled with excitement, without even asking the woman her name he shook his head yes.
When the mist cleared; he was there. The Blackened, dark scar. The Death Plateau. With lava spewing out of the middle of the island, traversing it was quite a challenge. Roger, finally at the top, struck his blade into the scorched earth and yelled, "I have come far enough! I wish to have this power you promised!"
And with that, the power of flames enveloped itself in Roger. He felt a burning sensation, one of power. Of might. Of courage. Of... death. After learning what had happened to him and being recognised as the "Hero of Faith" and a god to his people, he decided to join the League of Legends to make the name of his tribe heard all throughout Valoran.
