They can't unlock it because it's not a matter of flipping a switch, and a lot of people (including, you know, Nome) would rather Dominion stop losing players and actually start growing before it gets work put into a queue that will sit unused.

The priority should not be attracting new players, it should be keeping the ones you have so they can attract new players. If a patch comes in with this mega super nerf that removes the cancer that is kassadin from the blind pick queue, how are they going to know about it? They are not, a majority of the playerbase does not read the patch notes and even if I did I doubt they'd consider the implications said patch would have on dominion to make them want to play it.

Want to know what would attract new players? Something they can notice without reading a patch. "Oh Dominion has Ranked now, it must be worth playing" is how new players will be attracted instead of the current "Dominion so bad Riot wont even give it ranked, even TT has ranked". Not giving Dominion ranked under the new system just enforces this notion and will make the "new players" you want be alienated further.

Ranked, as that does both. Throwing a bunch of fresh apples into a barrel of rotton ones isn't going to keep them fresh. If we put all the apples into a new barrel free of the rotton apples, then adding fresh apples will not corrupt them.

Why can you not comprehend that inserting new players into a rotten situation either deters them from the mode due to them not enjoying the experience or causes them to become part of the problem and spam kassadin?

Ok, tell me this: Would you rather have Bruiserfest 2012 Dom (i.e. dom at its worst when mages AND adcs were all but nonviable) but with ranked, or Dom now? Because Dom now is a fair sight better aside from the few broken champions.

And why can you not comprehend that all Ranked will do is sit there in disuse because low ELOs aren't anywhere near stable enough to support anything resembling a fun game?

I'd rather have current dom with bans in it, which is what adding ranked would do. We are not going back to the past to play more ****ty games that such ass, the ones in the present are ****ty enough but that can be fixed.

Neither do High Elo's which is why there is a plague of kassadins. With ranked natural ELO isn't considered in matchmaking everyone will start afresh and when the true high elo's get high again we'll have a nice community that new players can aspire to be apart of instead of detesting.

Adding ranked is an improvement effort, not adding it is hurting Dominion. I could write pages of detail on this, going indepth on the mind of new players and what ranked means to them, even the ones that choose not to play it. Pretty sure I already did, but you trolled it.
