I have to say it does get annoying when people call out ks, but on the other hand some players do have to worry about kills like carry's, other than that i have to agree it's a lot better to have 0 deaths than 15 kills and 15 deaths.

I have so much love for that post <3
I'm really new to the game...only level 8 and I'm still only playing bot games... But even still the first time someone "stole" my "kill" i typed gj to them...being completely serious and he thought I was being sarcastic. It's a team game and if I can successfully push my lane I know everyone can see that and everyone knows I'm doing my job. I still have a tendency to die more than I should but I'm learning and that whole post was very very helpful.
I had more of a Halo mentality before playing LoL but now I'm starting to get it, that like you said, everything is secondary to the nexus and whatever is in your way should be the target, not upping your kills.

I could not agree more with this thread and it's ideals.

I haven't been playing very long, only level 15 at the moment. But when someone legitimately whines about a "Kill steal" I always stop and take the time to pose the question;

"How do you KS in a team based game?"

I've actually died intentionally, just to ask them this question. I quite enjoy the game, it's opened my eyes up for other MOBA style games, the genre is quite fun to me. However some aspects of the community, as with ANY community period, have some things better left avoided.

Hence why I don't PvP period lol

Thank you! There's been many games where my team is so focused on running around only to kill enemy champions that they ignore helping taking down turrets/pushing their own lane. In one game someone said "ks" & I wrote "we are a team, assists give gold too which helps both players & makes our team stronger." I've even been yelled at for not playing aggressive (but I tend to die a lot anyway so I was just being a cautious player).

One game I was trying to take down a tower & my team mate took off past the tower after the enemy champs only to be killed by the tower he was running past... "this annie is useless" he said. hahaha I just ignored him.

I still have a lot to learn about this game as well though & make many mistakes too.

Haha, I play support primarily, so when I accidentally KS, I already feel bad about it in the first place since that kill was supposed to be for my carry in the first place. But when I get called a "KSing ****tard" in addition, it makes me raise and eyebrow.

What get me at my current level (22) is people's utter refusal to buy wards. Likely no matter what position I'm playing in any given game, I'm usually the only one warding. Whenever someone complains about getting ganked too much or someone isn't calling mias, I try to tell them that 75g is more effective than an mia will ever be, and they usually just laugh it off and tell me they need to rush their Warmogs/Cleaver/Bloodthirster/Rabadons/Ohmwrecker(j/k).

People really underestimate the value of map vision at low levels.

Terrific post. Taking out towers is a strategy btw, not a tactic. A tactic would be how you took out the tower, just fyi. Kills are nice, but they don't win games. I have been on the losing side of plenty of teams that had more kills than our opppnents.

I like how you refer to it as a call of duty mind frame. Because thats really what it is. People are usually in it for themselves. Thats why you see bush watchers just sitting in the bush waiting for you to do all the damage, then jumping in last minute to get the kill. You living or dying is the least of their concern, they just want you to do enough damage for them to get the kill so they can come out of the game, win or lose, positive. People with the COD mind frame are all about having a good kdr. Then you get the classic, " Im not a noob, look at my score scrub. Im positive. " lololol. Kill steals actually do matter. Would you rather a skilled player get the gold from the kills or a noob who just runs around in circles and hides bushes waiting to get the last hit. The noob player is not going to carry you. Its important that the kills go to a good champ, and a good player. Xerath can last hit all day, he will still be a tier 3 champ in competitive and solo. Practically no one knows how to play him, and hes about as unknown as karma.
