Exactly, which is why lightbringer weeds out good teemos who can win without shrooms, and bad teemo's that have to rely on minefielding spore infused hydrogen bombs around the map to win games.

Maybe you're right and it will do some good, but it feels like a band aid fix for something. Maybe they need to redo teemo completely if they need an item tailored specifically for him to counter him.

Teemo can still put shrooms in commonly traversed brushes and also plant them in melee range when fighting a melee opponent without much compromise.

As an avid Teemo killer I do believe that being able to see and kill the traps passively is a little unfair, seeing them so that they can be avoided is more than enough. If you want to destroy a shroom you find, you can still use the active. That aura limits Teemos ability to place shrooms outside of bushes since they are now too easy to spot.

There is no counterplay for Teemo to use against this item, which is why the aura is currently too strong.

There is plenty of counterplay. The range is small, he can easily lure someone into them (the smell of Teemo blood drives people crazy), and he can place them on top of him during a fight with a melee. Assuming Nome did take away the ability to see them in brush, he can still put them there too. And it's not like the rest of his kit is fun to deal with either.

You can see traps that are in bushes as if you were actually in the bush. Working as intended? I doubt RiotNome would even comment here because his position is not one he can defend if that is working as intended.

That said, there is a bit of hyperbole here, as the range on it isn't very long and if you aren't paying close attention to everywhere you walk it's plenty easy to run into them anyways before you notice they are there.

Umm.. you don't read the forums much do you? Nome specifically mentioned debating having the passive reveal in brushes your champ was not in... (originally it was going to, but now it only does that if you use the active).
Nome has better things to do than waste time explaining to you why Teemo was broken and OP and needed to be dealt several strong nerfs recently. This was discussed and debated ad nauseum long before the patch, with plenty of commentary from Nome and opportunity for community feedback.
