To be honest, and i'm sure a lot of people would agree with me, that being on Blue is easier then being on Red/Purple. Primarily because Blue has to go up and to the right, giving a better view angle, then the others going down and left, with barely any angle at all. What i've seen in SMITE, is that they have the map, so that BOTH teams have the same view, though as not to favor one side over the other.

Not really. Personally it has not real effect on me either way but then I do not play with a locked screen. I know some people complain about the difference and Riot actually factors this in when awarding elo but I've never noticed a difference.
