I've been playing League of Legends for around two years, during that time my ping has been a solid 78. About a year ago my ping had spiked to 80 (yes I know, not a big deal) but I would also get multiple disconnects, so I called my ISP and they installed a new modem, this solved my problem. The past few weeks my ping has been anywhere between 80 and 250 and fluctuating around 40-50 ms every game. I called my ISP again and they said there were some loose wires outside on the house and they tightened them and if I had anymore problems to call them back. Their tightening of the wires did nothing and I had to called them back, they just came today to install a new modem which did not help. After they installed it I had 89 ping then I tested it again about 3 hours after I had a ping of 180. I have also ruled out my router by plugging directly into my modem. Also, I have ruled out my ethernet cable by using others.

I've seen a few people with these issues I just wanted to share my story. Any insight as to why this is happening or how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

I have 5mb down and 1mb up connection, **** I know but its the best I can get out here and it has never been a problem before. Using speedtest.net I used to average a ping of 20 but just recently, before they replaced my modem, I was getting pings of ~80. Now that they replaced my modem I am back to getting pings of 11-30 on speedtest.net

tl;dr: Ping used to be a solid 78, now its 80-250.

PS: I just played a game and my ping was 250-310. :/

I'm experiencing the same issue you're referring to. It's some kind of interaction between the patch and our hardware. Support couldn't solve it for me; my ISP couldn't either. Let's hope they notice it soon and start working on it.

Thanks for posting! Its nice to hear that I'm not the only one. Hopefully Riot will hear us and find the source of the problem.
