If only there were a set of rules governing things like how division works, man, it would be like if their were specified criteria for systems with standard division, I don't know let's just call it a quotient ring. You know what would be better? If we had rules about decimal notation too, let's call those rules the axioms of the reals. Then it would be like if we could use those rules to formally decide things about decimals and division...

If you round up 0.9999999 it turns into 1. But in purity, 0.9999999 is not 1, because it is not 1.
