You want strong Wave Clearers from level 1, with good escape mechanics to be able to go for those super early turrets.

Morgana is one of my favorite for going for a sub-10 minute tower. Kha'zix is one of the fastest pushers in the game after he hits 6. Morde, Nid, Rumble, Yorick can all go for early towers, too. Yorick is exceptional at early towers, because if he's good - and not against a strong sustain champ, he WILL force them out of lane early, or get a kill.

The best top for taking down turrets is sending your AD+support there while your bruiser can handle 1v2 bot lane (Olaf with blue, Chogath, a few more).

Rengar. If you can bully your lane he can knock down towers ridiculously fast.

it is caitlyn. namely because her kit/range let's you poke towers safely while the lane's pushed.

i suppose picking a traditional top, you'd want someone who can easily shred waves and escape when the lane inevitably pushes. all the while being able to maintain this effort repeatedly. in this case, i'd say zed.

I find Garen is very annoying, I dont play him but every time i play against him he takes my tower.
I used to play a lot of top lane before i went on my "play everyone once" kick.
Defenatley had most trouble with Garen running in Qing my tower and running out. Repeat.
