the one thing that "balances" him is his price!

his cooldown is probably the only thing going for downsides. he does way too much damage

even his counters can still get stomped if darius knows what he's doing
and even if he feeds, he's still an absolute threat at any point

impossible to 1v1, and still a hesitant 2v1. if you do fight him, the entire fight revolves around staying as far away as possible.
That's not a fight at all.

Darius is not OP. He has high damage and many newer players make the mistake of fighting him head on only to find out they have 5 stacks of passive and GET DUNKED (This is how you must spell it).

Darius has no sustain or durability built into his kit allowing poke to greatly hurt him before you fights. In addition, Darius is fairly spell reliant on his spells; wait for his cool-downs before any engages. If you are truly trying to fight him head on in a 1v1 with out an advantage, you should consider playing bots to learn what each champion's limits are.

he's easily one of the most debated champion


my argument is this

1. he bursts like a mofo. most burst champions are mages, and they are squishy. even non ap burst champs tend to be on the squishier side
is darius? nope.
2. even if darius SUCKS HARDER THAN A BLACKHOLE FULL OF VACUUMS, saaaaay, 0/10, you still can't 1v1 him. what kind of champion can't you 1v1 ever? tanks usually, but also usually they don't have high damage. i can't think of a match up that's ever safe to 1v1.
3. the worst thing is this. people always say kite him! don't let him hit you! harass him! HIS FRICKIN PULL. even as teemo, your poke is baaaaaarely out of his pull range. which means you're almost always in his pull range if you dare try to attack. jayce has a poke, but it has a moderate cooldown.
you can't farm, cuz he'll rip you to shreads. you can't fight him cuz he'll rip you to shreads.
a fight that's only kites. that's not a fight

the only real problem with darius is the pull is farther than the animation of the pull and if you get out of its pull zone while channeling it still pulls you in. darius pull is the most broken mechanic of the game. other than this newbius champ and his arrogant brother all the champs in league are fine

That pull however will decide your fate. until the cd is down.
basically, if darius isn't a total moron, or you get very lucky, a pull in a 1v1 will pretty much lead to your death.

singed doesn't though. and neither are considered each others counters.
other champs who have no range, have difficulty farming. even those who do sometimes.

jayce does stand a fair chance against darius, but with the approach that everyone spams they instantly see on anti darius threads (kite and poke) his range is too short and can be pulled in

in most cases, he's scary and dangerous.
he denies farm and can't really be fought directly
