Thresh probably needs some tweaking, but overall, I think he's not too bad.

You need to remember that champions are guaranteed to drop a soul, but minions are not, so you'll have several souls, just for helping your teammates, which is your job.
He doesn't scale well enough to sit back and farm while teamfights are happening; use your skills to make sure your team wins those fights!
