Throwing them off their game and annoying them is not very sportsmanlike, you know. I think you might misinterpret yourself there. Soccer players don't run around the field telling your mom jokes to throw others off their game.

You're wrong. Soccer plays jibe each other ALL the time. Everyone who plays sports does. If you don't know this, you must not have played much sports. You never see players butting shoulders in AFL?
