I think shaco's early game mobility makes him an insane jungler. He can just take the enemy jungler's jungle and run off with no problem because of his 'free' flash, on low cd. While doing this, he can still go around lanes ganking. He shuts down all the junglers that are either bad at 1v1 early game or slow initial jungle clear.
I think riot did a good job toning him down without destroying him. Now he justs needs late game buff

Stealth is an extremely toxic mechanic in this game (although riot probably wouldn't admit it) and rarely offers any counterplay aside from prohibitively expensive and impractical truesight items. It is the definition of anti-fun to play against. Shaco cannot be caught, and even poorly planned and executed ganks still often work for him.

Stonewall said it quite well in his updated jungle tier list on reignofgaming:

Just to verify; shaco is 100% banned and first picked in 2000+ elo. Shaco is my 3rd most played with a 65% win rate.

His level 3 + double buff clear time has not changed since season 2 like it has for all the other champions because of his boxes.

He can get double buffs and gank the enemy jungler before they even finish their second buff.

I believe this was his main problem and not his ganking potential.

Its not a nerf to boxes because they want him to quickly clear jungle. Because he quickly clears jungle, similar to mundo his ganks shouldn't be a very high chance of success, that is the point of nerfing the deceive and the shiv poison, so he is more aware of wards and that shiv isn't as good melee making him more reliable on the red that he can quick farm anyways.

its like people half watch the video and post an anger thread, get a response from a gm and then stay up all night trolling those who respond who haven't paid attention to any of the previous posts. A red has already posted his answer was quite clear as was the video.

"Stealth is a broken mechanic. Throw a blink on top of that and now you're just stepping on the broken shards. Give the character with that ability a slow and you're just setting the glass dust shards on fire. Give that character high damage as well and you just threw a drum of gasoline onto the flames. Then give that character an AoE fear stealthed trap and now you're just being an ass. Shaco just has so many tools, many of which allow him to punish players who aren't really doing anythign wrong, its downright stupid. He has access to all sorts of ganks and even haphazard ganks work for him. Stealth is just so toxic."




The supposed best jungler and most respected jungler in the game - Stonewall - said shaco is broken.
