This was the most interesting thing I saw in the latest PBE patchnotes (formatting kind of lost in transition):

By my best guess, it looks like a trial of a new system to balance out games where one side gets a leaver. From the looks of things, if one team is far enough ahead of their opponents after an enemy leaves, they can vote to give the remaining 4 opponents an infusion of gold and EXP and possibly even towers to try and bring the game back to some approximation of "fair". Now I don't know how exactly this is going to work, but I estimate that there will be some kind of penalty in place if you beat an opposing team 5v4 without equalising to encourage players to make it fair (after all, while you can sympathise with an opponent who gets a leaver, it's a rare player who would actually want to HELP them). Most likely there will also be a lockout function in place so that if a team gets "equalized" with their opponents the leaver can not rejoin the match no matter what.

Now THIS sounds interesting. People have been clamouring for years for Riot to do something about leavers and it looks like they're finally getting around to it. I look forward to hearing more about this because this could be the biggest game-changer that LoL has seen for ages.
