Nerf alpha strike? That's absurd, unless he has double strike charged up and alpha strikes directly to you, 100 damage isn't going to be 40% of any champions hp

I didn't say "completely" nerf it. I just said to reduce the ratio on his EARLY alpha strike. He will still end up with the same damage at lvl5 as he does already. Just make it so you don't have to stand FAAAAAR away from the farm while he just lol's about because if you do get near the farm he'll alpha strike for an extreme amount of damage at lvl1-6.

This was only about early laning. At the current moment, all he has to have is a Dorans ring to slice off 1 and a half bars of hp as soon as laning starts.

Problem with your logic, you're assuming that Master Yi rapes and just kills in the first minute of a game when in reality that never happens without a gank from jungle or the person opposite of Yi is just a ****ing ****** which is like 95% of you. Seriously his Alpha Strike is a 1:1 ratio because early game its on a long ass CD. On top of that the only time its a guaranteed hit is when there are 3 minions. If you're trying to say that he does too much damage with one attack then you need to take a look at well any AP champion in this game. I hear all of them have 2-3 attacks all based on AP and are all mostly very bursty. So ya just because you're too ignorant to beat AP Yi then you're doing something wrong.

His laning may be fairly straightforward, but he sure as heck takes some thought to play in team-fights.

When and how you go in can mean the difference between doing great and dieing instantly- same with AD Yi really.

He's definitely been more of an issue since patch and just got out of a dominion game where he healed 2x in 5 secs no joke, burst him down during a heal he runs off we die and after 5 secs he heals again.

Not sure if that's a bug or even possible but have also seen it in SR and his mid laning is pretty strong based upon who's mid an dhow they play him as well as when he jungles he can just get so fed especially with his speed now ganking is a lot easier even with warding.
