I saw it, it really did! And he still dealt 0 magic damage! Guess how much he was carried by kassadin?!?

Let's post about all the good things that can happen because of kassadin.

Yeah, he got bumped once too many times on the head after tanking with ult+cap and took whisper instead of torch, imagine that!

Tryn can't proc BFT, nor does he benefit from Magic Penetration.

AP Tryndamere only deals magic damage if he builds Lich Bane, really.
Or from Spellblade.

Sure he can proc BFT. It procs off of ability damage, not off of magic damage. Same as Urgot can make use of it.
