Very interesting story. It seems "LeBlanc" is not an actual person, but the headdress itself. The headdress casts an illusion over the wearer, so the wearer appears young and beautiful, becoming "LeBlanc". When the wearer gets too old and is about to die, the wearer passes on the headdress and the staff to another person. The new person wears the headdress and has the same illusion cast over themselves, and they become the new "LeBlanc". This deceives outsiders into thinking that "LeBlanc" never ages, when really a new person takes over the role of "LeBlanc".
It would be cool if the headdress retains the memories of past "LeBlanc's", so that the current "LeBlanc" has all the memories of the previous owners.
