so then what position would you play Vayne?

Bottom lane with a support champ to peel people off you who try and dive in to kill you. Basicly someone protects your team's Vayne as she last hits minions.

Until the enemy get too close to a wall then Vayne can pin them against it with her E and they both beat that person to death.

Vayne's tend to run Flash/Cleanse. Flash to escape and Cleanse cause Vayne's range isn't that great (for a ranged champ at least). So she needs a way to remove disables, like stuns, that could spell instant death for her.

Very rewarding champ but possibly THE hardest of the AD Carries to master (archer types - long range auto attackers). Caitlyn & Graves are 2 of the easier ones (Caitlyn imo is the easiest to start with cause of her range, traps & passive). Vayne is the assassin ADC - high damage but SUPER squishy & high risk.

But playing a champ you like is a great incentive to improvement. If you like them then you'll work harder TO master them & it won't feel like such a chore

how would you remove disables? stuns? by getting resistance?

If a character gets fed very early in the game he/she can pretty much 2-3 shot combo kill spree everyone who is left behind.

Cleanse removes disables. Also shortens the duration of any new disables cast on you for a short time after you cast it. It's one of the Summoner spells you get to pick during champ select.

There are items that also do it, But most of your cash as ADC will be going to damage.

Buildwise, you can help with the weak early game of a champion like Vayne by buying one or two doran's blades early, and having an early vampiric scepter. It's always a difficult call, because you're delaying the point at which she hits her late-game-unstoppable-angel-of-death stage, but it's always worth it if it prevents you from being crippled early.

You also want to try to farm as much as possible on a champion like Vayne. Basically relentlessly go for any farm you can get, since the sooner you reach your lategame stage and then group up, the more likely your team is to win. Your goal to shoot for should be around 100 minion kills per 10 minutes of the game - that's nearly an idealized number which is very difficult to hit, but it can give you an idea if you're missing farm too much.

If Vayne has Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer, Last Whisper, and a defensive item, the game is effectively over for the enemy team. She's incredibly difficult to stop at that stage.
