I posted something (yes 1 post) that I should not have. In the thread in question, I apologized for my actions and understood (after the fact) where my mistake was. I DID NOT think before I posted and I messed up. I understand that. However, I was permanently banned for this first time offense despite apologizing to the community in the thread. No foul language was used on my part despite being flamed and cussed out by the community. I do not understand why this company resorts to permanent bans (which CAN NOT be appealed) for first time offenders? It happened so swiftly that I doubt too much thought was given to it, but I have no proof of this unfortunately.

So, to make this a thread that ISN'T about ranting I'll ask a question instead of just ranting. Why does this company resort to such harsh, irreversible actions for a first time offender? It gives the community (especially myself) no faith in the company as a whole. Maybe this is just me though

Dunno what you did and I don't care. But if you're being "toxic" enough to the community then you're getting permanently banned. Doesn't matter if it's your first time "offending" or not.

It's not a "3 strikes and your out" type deal. Punishments are handed out based on how bad the offense is. And apparently yours was pretty bad.

Also you can clearly access the forums since you are now. Wouldn't call that a permanent ban. Just a slight inconvenience of you having to create a new account. Which you likely deserve and deserve worse. Just sayin'.

@Jason411 - Your response is very similar to those who responded in the thread in question. To me, you are the one being toxic. If you have nothing nice/helpful to say, dont say it? Just my opinions I guess, but ya I probably did deserve a ban, but a permanent ban?

@Fs SonOfSilas - There was aprox 10 minutes between post and ban. I did not know about the delete comment button. This thread I started and got banned for was amungst my first 5 posts ever on this forum. I (very stupidly) was doing a giveaway. To enter you simply had to level a charcter (via my referral link) to level 5. That was it, it was dumb of me to post (especially on these forums) and I shouldnt have. I simply got excited about the fact that I thought I had a way to finally get referrals and get the two skins I am missing.

Edit: I attempted to appeal three times via the support tickets. Every time I got the same message

I asked for any ban that wasn't permanent. Heck ban me for a year, if that is what they see fit. I also asked if there was any way to prove to them that I was reformed, maybe get an alt account to Senior Member without being reported for anything. Nothing, they wont budge. Seems silly to me to have no appeal process for this sort of thing. But I truly believe my actions did not warrant a permanent ban. Being as I am OCD about perfection, my account is now tainted by this permanent ban and it urks me, lol.

Unfortunately, spamming referals is an issue on the forums from time to time. Riot takes this seriously as it is an "abuse" of the system. Not only that but people often troll by spamming them. You may also want to look into whether or not you have been banned from the refer-a-friend program.

Often times if you have been making your own alts and boosting, or spam referals on the forum, you can be disqualified.

In the mean time, talk to friends, and invite people you know. Best of luck to you, hope ur still able to earn that RP, and sorry to hear about the perma.

I was NOT banned from the referral program. I feel as if I fell into a trap. I honestly did not know people spam these things. I posted 1 thread and got permanently banned along with all the other spammers? Ugh, I really wish it was like a year ban. I mean permanent ban really doesn't even do much outside of just making me mad on my main account. It doesn't stop people from spamming the forums on alt accounts? I just feel stupid and unlucky for losing forums on my main account.

Unfortunately, by accepting the ToU for the forums AND refer-a-friend, you "knew" what you were doing. You accepted Riot's terms, so you accept any punishment put forward by them.

Again, I'm sorry to hear about the permaban, I can't stress that enough. These things happen. I can't speak for Riot, but I would assume there is good reason appeals aren't granted. In general permabans aren't granted any form of appeal, because the banie had knowledge of what they were doing beforehand.

Refer a friend program is only for new people that didn't play LOL. I guess what you did was wrong because you have to have an account to go into the forums. So its like you were asking other "summoners" to smurf.

I guess you were lucky by losing only the forum privileges and not your main account.

I'm wondering why you think people should feel sympathy for you, when it appears you don't learn?
