Summoners!

Those of you who have been following the Journal of Justice know that there has been trouble brewing in Valoran between the sovereign city-states of Ionia and Noxus. For the first time in the history of Runeterra, you will be able to witness the resolution to that conflict live!

Over the course of the coming days, we will be inviting summoners from our volunteer programs to represent these two city-states in combat. In addition to deciding the outcome of the conflict between Ionia and Noxus, the results of the match will determine which of two items will be added to the game in an upcoming patch.

The battle for the fate of Ionia goes down at 6:00 PM PST on December 10th. Be sure to witness the history of Runeterra in the making!

How can we join?

Noxus has better champions!

This would be cooler if there was some kind of way for everyone to participate instead of just a hand picked live casted event between top players. While that's neat and all, there are already a lot of live streams of top players. Maybe not playing inside of very restricted thematic comps like this, but even still. Perhaps in the distant future the client could track a community wide kind of tournament with a separate button to participate in tournament games during the time interval, restricting champion picks and allowing you to choose sides.
