is he good with any damage output?

Well played shen early game can be a pain to lane vs,but his dmg isnt cool mid-late game.

rammus and cho gath have good damage?

The strongest ones out of your list are prolly shen,urgot and taric.

Cho gath really isn't a "tank" but rammus probably does some of the most damage of pure tanks.

Sona is out in my opinion, pretty weak compared to Karma and Taric.
Karma is VERY good in the right hands, Taric is probaly just as good, one has a stun, the other has a shield, and the stun is very powerful early game, while the shield is a very strong shield, I would say Karma overall since I just can't seem to get a decent build with taric but thats probably a personal problem.

Thats the supports, Shen is the only "real" tank but I have seen some really good gragas, while I think shen is probably beter as a tank in most scenarios, gragas can also go AP if you need him to (Shen really can't go AP or AD, he's pretty much a pure tank, I guess if you had to go AD with warmogs and atmas so your passive does more).

Finaly the 2 phisical DPS, urgot and Gangplank. I would say Gangplank since he's just mroe fun and its pretty great in most cases having the ability to deny minions and get out of most dangerous cases with your heal/CC removal. Urgot's pretty fun, very strong early game (Gangplank is very strong also though, not as strong) and Urgot's ult takes some time to get used to if your not using it to gank an enemy and your in the middle of a fight.


Edit: Although I say Shen over Gragas, if you like ranked games, the only one of these that is often banned is Shen.
