Updated to here.
And more updates!
First the good news...All the guides should be working again!
Woo.
The links should all be repaired, if you find something wigging out please let me know. Thanks again to all of you who helped out with this process. I think we have a semi-permenant solution with the guides at the moment, so ostensibly everything should be back to normal.
Thanks also to Heat n Serve for the info on Leaguecraft, that made a pretty significant difference in the link length and it puts them more on par with the LoL forum links which is far less of a problem.
Changes
In order to keep things working, there'll have to be a few changes to acceptable submissions.
1. Link shrinkers don't work anymore, and if you find one that does, chances are it's going to get disabled. That's a permenant change for your protection (we've had issues with keyloggers) so please don't post them.
2. Because of that change, we're going to have to institute a maximum link size. I haven't settled on exactly what that's going to be, but here's the first victim:

3. I'm also going to be a bit more heavy handed editing guide names when they go onto the thread. I know some of our guide writers spend time thinking up creative names so, sorry in advance, but they'll be able to read the full name in your thread.
4. I'm also going to start limiting the max number of guides for each champion, this will end up effectively around 10-12 guides per. This was already loosely in place, but it's going to start being more important now, if you want to write a guide for a thread that's full, recommend one to be removed first.
This will actually serve two purposes. First, it means that we should have enough room to fit all the guides, and second, it'll help reduce older clutter and outdated guides.
Other Random Thoughts
I really appreciate the time that a few of you have taken to think up new ideas. I'm trying to keep this thread as open and transparent as possible so everyone has an equal chance of getting in and helping out.

I know Aregionius has mentioned before that he doesnt like removing old guides if they still over valuable information (tips/masteries etc.). Although i agree that with so many rapid, big and recent changes alot of guides have to be removed (theres definetly quite a few that probably will never update the changes, and its up to the community (probably me & you :P) to point them out.

The new max guide limit should help here, and we have some forum changes in the pipeline that should make sorting outdated items a bit easier in the future. I don't mind keeping "outdated" guides on the board so long as they still represent champion playstyle or have a strong discussion, builds tend to be supplementary to a good guide. You guys have been great in suggesting guides to be removed so please keep it coming.

Also... why the heck does condon have his name bolded next to all of his "guides"?
|
I'm going to agree and disagree with you on this one. First off, I've removed the bolding, but it was done because Condon hasn't been around for a while and his stuff is starting to become a bit outdated.
Philisophically however, I have no problems highlighting certain guides. Condon got bolded because it combined good guide writing, with strategy, and high caliber prose that made the guides fun and interesting to read at a level which almost no one else has achieved (hence the copious number of replies). If someone else is working on that level with new material, the bolding may return in the future.
Also Imperius, your link doesn't work, so that guide can't even be considered.
