Back when Veigar was released, I actually got my game to crash by going over 999 AP. His ult is fine if you go with AP.

in 35 minute games ive easily gotten 500-600 ability power, without even farming minions with Q. I find farming with his W ability to get AP items is usually better than having to buy mana regn to spam Q more in lanes.

I will have to post a SS, got him to 676 AP over the weekend in a 47 minute game. Will have to play him again.

Runes = 73 AP
Masteries ~ 11 AP
Soulstealer = 150 AP
AA Staff(~3000 mana) = 120 AP
Zhonya's Ring = 100 AP
Q farming ~ a modest 100 AP

Throw in Zhonya's passive 1.25(554) = 692.5 AP

Sure, you might not be able to fully farm up your soulstealer and maybe you aren't very good at getting AP with your Q skill. The point is, 700 AP is very achievable. Hell, people can top that with lich easily as long as they don't rape the other team too early.

my friend and i were in a game and he got 591 in a 30 min game...its not that hard just gotta get all ap items. Farmer the caster minions with darkmatter kill the soldiers with q
